Meet Debbie

Debbie’s Vision for Moms

“I realized early in raising my children that I needed to change the “legacy of the past” – those parenting philosophies handed down from previous generations. I didn’t discover until much later what I didn’t know affected the way I parented my children and who I was “being” as a mom. If moms knew now what we discover in mid-life, what a difference it would make our own life and the life of our children…” ~ Debbie Franklin

I knew very early in my life I was born to be a mom. I anticipated it throughout my younger years. I always tuned in to things for moms: tips for child rearing; ideas about home making; creating the best environment to raise happy and healthy children, nurturing and growing my marriage, and my own personal development to achieve my highest potential.

Along the way, I developed systems which included the most important things to me, my family, and family management strategies.  My values and my beliefs aren’t always the same as others — sometimes their ideas are better than mine.  I have learned to evaluate and apply what works for me and my family.

I am always sharing with other women the results of my years of living, learning, and making mistakes.  I am honored and blessed when I am able to provide support, encouragement, a new perspective, information, or a resource that makes a difference in their life and the life of their children.

I understand the mom is the “heart of the family.”  It is an amazing journey, full of wonder as you watch your child grow, heart-ache as you watch them hurt and make mistakes, frustration, and at times craziness, joy and pride in who they are as the unique individual person you have brought into this world, and a life-time relationship of mother and child — an eternal bond of love!

My Mission…is “To Inspire Moms, to Change the World” by empowering you to have a relationship with yourself, so you can provide a harmonious home for your family – Mastering the Art of Being A Mom!

Who is Debbie?

I am a successful entrepreneur, mother of three and a city girl who migrated to rural America where I married my country sweetheart 25 years ago. We live on a small farm with our pedigreed line of English Cream Golden Retrievers (Wisteria Goldens), two cats and cattle. Yes, cattle! Because I’ve lived in both city and country communities, I’ve been exposed to a broad range of challenges which helped me to unfold the skills to provide a unique perspective for all life stages of motherhood.

I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom while raising my family, and even homeschooled my children for ten of those years. I was very active in the local home school co-op and in my children’s extra-curricular activities.

I’m a highly-dedicated and highly motivated mom who likes to do things “my own way.” I understand the pressure that well meaning family and friends can put on a mom:

  • Others thought I should work instead of being at home
  • Others thought I should keep my children in public school
  • Others thought I didn’t need to go to college
  • Others thought I needed to raise my children differently than I did

But, others were wrong!

“Being home was the best thing for MY family! Homeschooling my children and the choices we made were the best for MY family! Going to college when I did was the best thing for ME for many reasons other than just getting a degree. We have the BEST relationship with our children and their spouses! We did what was best for US – despite what others thought!” ~ Debbie Franklin

My children had the grace and wisdom to grow up into amazing young adults, move out and begin taking responsibility for their own lives. I didn’t find going through the Empty Nest transition fun at all, but now my children have succeeded and blessed me with three wonderful grandsons!

“I listen, share, and provide resources to inspire moms to be who they are – not who others think they should be.” ~ Debbie Franklin

I Discover a New Passion

Being a stay-at-home mom, as well as a forward planner, I began developing a strategy for my own life, anticipating my fast approaching empty nest. Fulfilling my life strategy, I attended college, and earned my degree in Accounting. Embracing my college experience, I also served a two-year term as President of Phi Theta Kappa, an International Honor Society.

Although I made plans for the time when my children would leave, Empty Nest still hit me hard and becoming an Accountant wasn’t enough for me to fill in the gaps my children left. I had overcome many obstacles and challenges of my past through traditional counseling, so I began to work with my own life coach for personal development. This is when I found my passion in helping moms discover who they are and how they can become the BEST mom they could be.

I’ve met many moms who have “regrets” of what they wished they would have done differently, and how, if they’d had more information when their children were younger, it would’ve meant so much to their own lives and the lives of their children.

Discovering who you are while raising your children will allow you to build a foundation to create the life you want and from that place, you become the “best” mom (woman) you can be.  I truly want to help moms create their “best life.”

From organizing/planning, life-experience and self-care, to building businesses, I am committed to learning and gathering information to share with others, especially with moms. My passion and aspiration to help moms discover who they are, and to create a life plan that is best for their family is what inspired me to create Mom’s Life Mastery!
